To Our Families at Pediatric Associates of Medford,
We understand the stress that families are under at this time, concerns about health, concerns about loved ones near and far, concerns about school and livelihoods and finances. It is an incredibly challenging time.
In this rapidly shifting landscape, we are working very hard to provide ongoing care for you. We continue to see “essential well visits” in the morning including newborn weight checks and infant vaccine visits. We also encourage well visits in our office for the following age group 2, 4, 11, 16 & High School Seniors heading to college as these visits require necessary vaccinations. We also continue to see a select group of urgent patients in the afternoon.
Most of our care, however, is transitioning to either virtual or telehealth visits. We are performing many urgent visits, behavioral health visits, medication follow ups, nutrition consults, and even certain well visits – all by video or telephone. As clinicians, we find great relief in connecting with you and providing ongoing care in this unusual way. These virtual visits require patients to be signed up with MyChart and our office staff is more than happy to help you set this up.
As always, our goal is to provide the best possible care and do our best to keep you out of the emergency room or urgent care center. This is particularly important at this stage of the pandemic. Please, if you are worried about your child, call us. The front office staff is available to take calls Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM - 12:00 PM and 1:00 PM - 5:00 PM. At all other times our answering service will forward your message to the on-call provider.
We are all inundated with news, information and suggestions about how to live and work while staying at home. Here is a link from the American Academy of Pediatrics with some suggestions: Working and Learning from Home During the COVID-19 Outbreak
Please, reach out to us if you need anything.
